Spring time in a new area and a new house has given us hours of enjoyment as we discoverthe new plants and wildlife that visit us. Each day I love walking through the garden to discover the plants and flowers that are slowly making their way into blossom.
The different types of birds that visit our yard has been amazing. Yes, we get the Ravens and the Robins, but have also been host to Black Eyed Junkos, Rufous Hummingbirds, Western Tanager (which is one weird looking bird with his grey/black wings, red head and yellow underbelly), and today while walking Nolan to school a beautiful Eagle flew overhead.
I’m hoping that our daily discoveries continue to amaze and fill us with wonder.
The spring weather has brought the friendly site of deer returning to mingle and coexist with the neighbourhood. While out walking Rowgie last night, two white-tailed deer were busy enjoying their meal along the side of the road. And today while working at the computer, I looked up to see one passing through the backyard.
My plans for our vegetable garden will now include ethical and safe ways of deterring these beautiful creatures from snacking on any bounty that might be grown.
